The festive event was filled with fun, tradition and community spirit as the Welles family took their annual holiday walk to St Mary Magdalene Church. Meanwhile, the royal family greeted well-wishers gathered at Sandringham Estate.

Princess Catherine showed her warmth and natural connection to the crowd, along with her three children. The royal children left with bouquets of flowers, chocolates and stuffed animals as they joined the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with the King and Queen, for their special Christmas service. Prince Louis beamed as he received a number of gifts from the public, including a box of Cadbury chocolates, Christmas crackers and a variety of stuffed toys. Princess Charlotte and Prince George also happily accepted the gifts, smiling and waving to the crowd as they stood next to their father, Prince William.

Despite their formal appearance, the children shared some playful moments during the walk. Some keen observers noticed Princess Charlotte sharing a sweet moment with her brother. Amidst a pile of gifts from generous fans, Prince George pointed out to his sister that there were chocolates for her. Social media users responded positively, calling Charlotte adorable and expressing admiration for the royal children, saying they will grow up to be as wonderful as their parents. Doting father Prince William wrapped his arms around his eldest son and led him to St Mary Magdalene Church for the Christmas service.

Prince Louie's charming behaviour also delighted onlookers as he happily accepted handfuls of chocolates and teddy bears. In a heartwarming video, he appeared excited about his gifts before accepting a Santa Claus headband from a fan. He politely thanked the gift-giver and turned back to his siblings and father, who were all visibly delighted with Louie's spoils. Throughout the trip, Louie held hands with his mother, Princess Catherine, and looked delighted at receiving the festive gifts.

This was the second public appearance in recent months, when William, George, Charlotte and Louie supported Catherine at the annual Together at Christmas Carol concert. Nine-year-old Charlotte and six-year-old Louie enjoyed Richard E Grant's animated performance of A Christmas Carol, smiling broadly. At one point, Charlotte smiled at her mother, while Louie and George grinned throughout the performance. The highlight was a surprise performance by the Royal Ballet School, which left Charlotte spellbound. Catherine asked Louie to keep the surprise a secret, revealing he had been doing so for nearly two weeks.

The Christmas Day tradition at Sandringham is important to the royal family, serving as an opportunity to connect with the public and showcase their family values. This year marks a new chapter in the roles of the younger royals, with George, Charlotte and Louie becoming more prominent in public life. The day was also marked by warm interactions between Catherine and the crowds, where she received gifts, shook hands and exchanged festive greetings. Children presented her with flowers and cards, all of which she acknowledged with personal thanks.
