William adores his sons and they bring him much joy. However, Charlotte, whom William affectionately calls Minette, has been a particular bright spot in this difficult year. Their bond has been strengthened by recent challenges. William has predicted the challenges ahead for Princess Charlotte, saying there will be drama in the future.
In 2016, when Charlotte was just nine months old, William spoke about raising her at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. He said Charlotte was a lovely child but had been warned by other fathers that as children get older they can become more difficult. William has said that despite life being more complicated now with George, 11, Charlotte, nine and Louis, six, his children are getting along.
He joked that no bones were broken but that they were running, pushing things and dancing. This is not the first time William has described his children as "energetic". In December last year, he spoke of plans to attend church with the family at Christmas, where George would be very active. Since then, Charlotte has grown into a confident little girl. In 2017, the Duchess of Cambridge spoke about Charlotte to Samantha Burge, saying that Charlotte was growing up fast and taking the lead in the family.
In 2018, the Queen also revealed that Charlotte often looked after George. Charlotte made reporters laugh when she told them not to come in at Prince Louis' christening. Late last year, the public got a glimpse of Charlotte's adorable personality in a clip playing with George. In the clip, Charlotte encourages her brother to climb rocks by the stream.
William recently announced that Charlotte is doing well and will be taking part in more activities next year. Catherine has also started to make more appearances, attending events honoring British war heroes. Kensington Palace has confirmed that Catherine will hold the annual Christmas service at Westminster Abbey on December 6.
