Prince George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have busy schedules. Their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, have been open about their children's interests.

Prince William recently shared his family vacation and interests while visiting a community pool in Ty. He mentioned that both he and Catherine love swimming, as do Charlotte and Louis, who also enjoy swimming, even if they don't always swim very well. At just 10 years old, George has already started scuba diving. For any parent, taking their child to their first swimming lesson is a big deal, but for the royals, keeping a low profile can be a challenge.

However, they still have access to Queen Elizabeth's former London residence, including the Buckingham Palace swimming pool, which has been used by the royal family for many years. In 2014, Princess Charlotte was seen taking George for private swimming lessons, and again in 2015 shortly before she was born. Louis may have also spent some time in the pool. Princess Eugenie noted that her sons also enjoy swimming, especially in the Portuguese waters. She described Auggie as someone who loves being in the water.

This week, the Buckingham Palace swimming pool made headlines after King Charles decided to lower the water temperature for environmental reasons. There is a dress code for swimmers due to palace protocol, which favours modest swimwear over revealing outfits. Queen Elizabeth II was a keen swimmer from a young age and recognised the health benefits of swimming, passing this trait on to her son, King Charles III.

William is also a keen swimmer, having captained his university water polo team. He made sure his children were good swimmers too, calling the royal family a “family of swimmers”. While Princess Catherine prefers to swim outdoors in cold water, Queen Camilla prefers to swim in the sea.

Over the years, the couple have holidayed in sunny locations such as Mustique, where George celebrated his sixth birthday in 2019. Mustique offers plenty of water activities, including diving and snorkelling. The family recently visited Jordan, where Kate spent part of her childhood, and they often travel to the Isles of Scilly off Cornwall, where they have been seen cycling on Tresco Island.
